A little bit about Deb Exel …
With a reputation for being a ‘workaholic’, it’s no surprise to anyone that even after 25 years in big business, Debra Exel is still not ready for the slow lane.
“My time in the telecommunications field as a management professional and Senior Project Manager has equipped me with a lot of hard-won wisdom and experience.” Debra says she’s “completely on fire” when it comes to applying this expertise to transform businesses and non-profit organizations. “It is so gratifying to work with executive teams and soloprofessionals to help turn their vision into a strategic plan that will yield hard results.”
Debra has served in several leadership capacities during her professional career, in both the corporate and community affairs areas. As Founder and Chair of the Barrie and District Chapter of Kids Help Phone, Debra developed successful fundraising, awareness and social media communication strategies. Debra served 10 years on the board of Barrie Out of the Cold, creating and enhancing their online presence through social media and other marketing initiatives before retiring as VP. She was a key player in the start up of a new organization, the Barrie Historical Archive, and as Vice President, helped establish this exciting online museum of her city’s fascinating past before continuing on as Curator. These days she also spends her time volunteering at Feline Fix, as Treasurer/Social Media/Webmaster of the Simcoe County Historical Association and fulfilling her appointment to the City of Barrie’s Heritage Barrie Advisory Committee. Volunteerism is an important part of Debra’s life and she is committed to giving back to the community she lives in.
